RATIONALE
Global education in the 21st century goes beyond the mastery of content or use of new technology.  It includes learning how to learn.  Educators can help achieve this goal by providing a framework that helps reduce barriers and optimize challenges and support, to meet the needs of all learners.

To deliver quality education, teachers are expected to constantly explore ways and means to improve the delivery of instruction. Lesson study is a process by which teachers jointly plan, observe, analyze, and refine actual lessons. Through lesson study, instructional implementation of the K to 12 is achieved.

Students in child labor, street children, indigenous people, students in remote areas and children with special education needs are entitled to quality education they so deserve. It is incumbent upon all educators to address their needs and interests in order to hone their potential talents, interests and abilities. 

OBJECTIVES
At the end of the training-workshop, the educational leadership and academic coordinators should be able to:

  1. Make teachers aware of the needs and interests of all kinds of learners in the context of inclusive education;
  2. Train teachers to include students with various needs and interests in structuring lessons; and
  3. Educate teachers in identifying and applying appropriate and relevant teaching/learning strategies and assessment in inclusive education.

EXPECTED OUTPUT
A documented pledge to implement inclusive education in the participants’ respective schools.

  • Overview on every child is an individual,  responding to diversity and working together from UNESCO perspective and resolution of Batangas Declaration on Inclusive Education
  • The DepEd Inclusive Education Principles, Guidelines and Program/Services  (in view of the K to 12 Program Implementation)
  • The Lesson Study Perspective
  • Understanding Design for Learning (UDL)
  • Response to Intervention (RTI)

3 days
Part 1: Instructional planning and lesson plan development in inclusive education across disciplines

1.5 days
Part 2: Test and measurement of learning outcomes based on lesson study approach

1.5 days
Part 3: Monitoring and evaluation of effective instruction in inclusive education

1 day
Creating a positive learning environment with Parent Teacher Association and stakeholders involvement in inclusive education
